A MALDON-based craft beer brewery which was founded by an RAF veteran has been chosen to create a special beer as part of a Europe-wide tour to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings.
As an ex-forces business, the Datum Attitude Brewing Co is “delighted” to collaborate with the D-Day Squadron, a large US charity for their 2024 legacy tour of the UK and Europe which will also mark the 75th anniversary of the Berlin Airlift.
The D-Day Squadron will be flying a fleet of DC-3s, representing Second World War and Cold War vintage aircraft from the United States to the United Kingdom.
The squadron will cross the English Channel to Normandy, France, before flying on to Berlin, and over Germany.
Datum Attitude – which is the squadron's only UK affiliate brewery – will also take part in UK events.
The squadron is based at North Weald and is taking part in a number of air shows across the UK.
Sam Morris, founder of Datum Breweries, said the beer will be released on May 3 at 12noon.
