A POPULAR barbecue festival is coming back to Maldon this summer.
The Smoke and Fire Barbecue Festival will be back at Promenade Park in August.
The event was last held in Maldon in 2019 before moving to Colchester's Castle Park.
The festival announced its return to Maldon back in December 2022, and held its first successful event back at the site last year.
The event now not only offers a huge range of meats but also vegetarian and vegan options.
A spokesman said: "For a summer experience that’s a cut above the rest, our food festival is a must-visit for families seeking flavourful fun.
"The event highlights include the Great British Open Freestyle BBQ Championships, a myriad of award-winning street food traders, international pitmasters and fire cooks set to elevate your BBQ appreciation.
"Our jam-packed programme also includes live music stage with international DJs spinning Afrobeats, old school, US house and 90s-00s R&B.
"There’s plenty for the children too, a dedicated Kids Zone, fair rides, bouncy castles, and our free circus skills workshops.
"Test your grit at our bucking rodeo bull contest or engage in our extreme chilli and hot wing eating challenges.
"Savour local brews at our mini Real Ale and Cider festival, or chill in our VIP lounges with fizz and cocktails.
"With weekend camping available, you can make the most of the festival vibe.
"Join us at Maldon’s Promenade Park for a sizzling BBQ and fire cooking experience that’s sure to be a family hit."
The event is coming to Maldon on August 17 and 18 with tickets on sale soon.
