AN actor from Burnham has spoken of his joy at being a part of Doctor Who season finale.
Lenny Rush, who plays Morris Gibbons in the show, has told of how he was given an upgrade on his original role.
The actor became a key part of the penultimate episode of the shows first series in the episode entitled, The Legend of Ruby Sunday.
The episode was broadcast on June 14, with the final episode being show June 22.
The Doctor and Ruby Sunday have faced the Bogeyman, fought against Maestro, and survived the battlefield of Kastarion 3.
Now, the intrepid duo arrive at UNIT headquarters in the middle of modern-day London on a top-secret mission where a long-buried secret about the era of the Third Doctor awaits.
Plus, Ruby’s past and her relationship with her mother comes to the fore.
Lenny, who is only 15 said: “I was in disbelief when I was given the part, I just wanted to start filming straight away.
“I was originally given the role of Eric, the space baby, in the Space Babies episode. I would have only had to voice record, so no filming was needed.”
He told of how his mum gave him the news that he was being cast for the role of Morris Gibbons: “[When she said 'Unfortunately you’re no longer playing Eric in Doctor Who'. I was shocked and sad.
“Mum decided to leave a long pause before telling me that it is because they’ve given you a bigger role, I was over the moon.”
The actor is best known for his roles on Cbeebies show The Apple Tree House and BBC show, Am I Being Reasonable?
It was announce last June Lenny had been cast in Doctor Who.
It came just weeks after he bagged a Bafta for the best male performance in a comedy programme following his performance in Daisy May Cooper’s comedy thriller Am I Being Unreasonable?
He added: "Ncuti and Millie were lovely and a joy to work with. They were so helpful with welcoming me into the show and making me feel at home, as were the rest of the cast and crew."
