A POLICE investigation has been launched after an 'unexpected' death of a woman in her 40s in Heybridge.
Officers and colleagues from the ambulance service were called to an address in Hillary Close this morning, Wednesday, July 10, following concerns for the welfare of a woman.
Police have said a woman in her 40s died at the scene.
He has been released on bail as enquiries continue.
Officers have now launched an investigation and are appealing for information following the death of the woman.
Her death is being treated as "unexpected", Essex Police has said.
A spokesman added: "This investigation is at a very early stage and we’re progressing a number of lines of enquiry.
