A man has been arrested following a probe into the "unexpected" death of a woman in Heybridge.
Essex Police said a 48-year-old man has been arrested following enquiries into the death of the woman.
Emergency services were called to an address in Hillary Close at around 10.15am on July 10 following concerns for the welfare of a woman.
A woman in her 40s died at the scene.
Her death is being treated as "unexpected" as police continue their investigation.
The 48-year-old man, who was arrested on July 11, has been released on police bail.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "We remain open-minded as to how the woman died and our investigation is continuing at pace, with a number of lines of enquiry being progressed.
