A TILLINGHAM primary school is celebrating after being handed a good Ofsted rating in all categories.
St Nicholas C of E Primary School was handed the rating following an inspection in June.
The assessment highlighted there is a "friendly and purposeful" environment at the Southminster school which caters to 121 pupils, aged between 5 to 11 years old.
The inspectors stated: "Pupils across the school demonstrate positive attitudes.
"Older pupils, in particular, are grateful for the changes the school has made this year to significantly reduce poor behaviour and enhance their education.
"Pupils listen and work well in lessons. They respond appropriately to adults’ guidance."
The school's leadership, including the trust and staff, were acclaimed for their shared high expectations with the report adding: "As a result, pupils learn well across the different subjects they study."
Despite the overall good rating, the inspectors recognised the need for further improvement in subject areas outside of English and Mathematics, noting that: "Curriculum plans are new.
"As a result, pupils have not learned a detailed body of knowledge of these subjects."
Headteacher Nicola Emrich said: "We are thrilled with the outcome of our recent Ofsted inspection.
"After a year of rapid and effective improvement, this Ofsted report is testament to the hard work of everyone in our school community."
