A HOLIDAY venue in Maldon is inviting residents to enjoy hours of adventure at a family fun day event.
Osea Leisure Park will be hosting its Neverland Family Funday event this weekend.
The day will feature a range of activities, from bouncy castles and water pistol fights to treasure hunts, arts and crafts and fun at the Pirate Cove Splash Park.
Families can also enjoy the antics of kid’s entertainer Salty the Seagull and the mischievous Peter Pan.
A spokesman said: “Are you ready to fly and never grow up? Well, sprinkle yourself with fairy dust, think happy thoughts, and head for the 'second star to the right and straight on til morning' as we whisk you away to the Osea Neverland Family Funday.
“We have everything to make sure you and your lost boys and girls never want to grow up.
“Plus, the fancy dress competition sounds like a blast. Whether you’re dressed as a menacing pirate, an enchanting fairy or even a fearsome crocodile, the most imaginative costume is sure to win some exciting prizes.
“And as a special treat, you can participate in our Seagull Screeching Competition featuring Cooper Wallace, the nine-year-old Gull Screeching Champion who will be judging your shrieks before showing you how it is done.
“And for the adult members of the Neverland pirate crew, don't worry we've got you covered too with plenty of ships' rations, ale and seadog merriment whilst your little ones have the time of their lives.”
The venue is also holding a similar event with its Under the Sea Family Funday the following weekend.
Osea Leisure Park is family-owned and operated.
The park, which began its story pre-Second World War in 1933, was opened by Mabel Speakman to pea and fruit pickers for camping and to enjoy spending time with their families.
Just last year it was recognised as a five-star resort by England’s official tourism board, achieving the highest grade possible from VisitEngland.
The Neverland Family Funday is this Saturday, August 10.
