Ormiston Rivers Academy students are celebrating their hard work after receiving their A-Level results.

Students at the Burnham-on-Crouch Sixth Form, which is part of Ormiston Academies Trust, have shown great determination in preparing for their exams which has been reflected in their success.

The academy has seen an overall improvement on last year’s results. While all students have done well, there have been some impressive individual performances.

Milly Gilmour, has achieved two A*s in history and the EPQ and two As in English literature and sociology.  She will be going on to University of Sheffield to study Politics and Philosophy.

Amelia Hague, has achieved A* in maths and three As in further mathematics, chemistry and physics.  She will be going on to University of Exeter to study Maths.

Ross Foster, has achieved three As in mathematics, further mathematics and chemistry and a B in physics.  He will be going on to the University of Nottingham to study Maths.

Siobhan McQuillan, has achieved A*'s in English Literature and History and an A in Sociology. She will be going on to Exeter University to study Law. 

Many individual subjects performed strongly including History, Sport, Finance and Media Studies.

Some further students were also pleased with their results.

Connie Nicholls, 18, got a distinction star in BTEC Sport, B in biology and a D in English Literature. Connie said: “I’m very happy with my results and I’m now planning on going to St. Mary’s university in Twickenham.”

Cydni Pittaway, 18, got a C in English, C in sociology and a D in history. Sydney said: “I’m feeling pretty good about my results, I’m going to Nottingham Trent university now.”

Erin Neil, 18, got CCC in Finance, sociology and English. She said: “The results are better than I expected, I’m now heading to Manchester Met university.”
