A SOUTHMINSTER band is set to release a brand-new single.
The Remedy, made up of Angela Gardner, Jon Greaves, Beth Pratt and Julian May, will be releasing its newest hit, Papermill Lock, on September 6.
It will be available to stream or download on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon and YouTube Music.
The song was written by Julian May of the band with additional arrangement from Jon Greaves, who is also a guitarist and vocalist in the band.
Julian said: “We were fortunate to be invited on to The Cutty Sark during the London Marathon in 2022 for an interview with BBC Radio London and to promote our aptly named single ‘Marathon Song’ which was a great thrill for the band.
"After reaching those dizzy heights, we did wonder where do we go after that, and so we thought to bring it back home to Essex for this more relaxing laid-back summer vibe song about visiting the local attraction ‘Papermill Lock’.”
Paper Mill Lock is situated in Little Baddow halfway along the Chelmer and Blackwater Navigation.
The river stretches 14 Miles in total from the centre of Chelmsford to the sea at Heybridge Basin.
The official video, which was shot on location at the lock, will be viewable on the band’s official YouTube channel on Thursday 5th September 2024 by following this link https://youtu.be/-q1jkAqCiWg or searching YouTube for The Remedy Band.
