A POPULAR all-male choir is performing at Burnham's United Reformed Church.
Singing a concert programme of modern pop and classic male voice songs, the Men2Sing group will raise funds for the United Reformed Church's (URC) community fund.
Church elder, Bob Mercer said: "The URC church here in the town has always had a reputation for supporting the community in many ways, and the modern premises reflect a church that is welcoming and comfortable for all age groups.
"We want to continue to be a relevant hub of activity for all the people and local organisations that regularly use the premises.
"We are already a really useful church with a weekly programme for preschool children, children, youth, adults, the elderly, the bereaved and more community projects are very much in the pipeline."
Mr Mercer continued: "With Community in a Cup we have combined with other organisations in the town to see how we can better address the social needs in the community.
"Over the past few months we have developed into a hub for the local food bank, a regular friendship group for some, and just somewhere to meet others.
"We are now appointing and funding a full-time community worker to extend this work in Burnham and Southminster which is the reason for our fund raising."
The majority of concerts the group performs are for various charities and it has raised a vast amount of money for organisations including The Round Table, Rotary, and various churches.
The group will be performing at the United Reformed Church this Saturday, September 7, starting at 7.30pm.
Tickets for the concert are £10 including refreshments.
The tickets can be purchased by calling 01621 784713 or alternatively you can get tickets at the door.
