THE owner of a business which allows owners and their four-legged friends to enjoy a swim together says she has "the best job in the world" as the group continues to thrive.
Canine Dip and Dive, in Maldon, has a 32 ft pool which gives dogs the opportunity to swim and enjoy themselves.
Pooches can enjoy a dip with an instructor, with the group encouraging and helping first-timers or nervous dogs.
Owners Jodie and Terry Bruce run the site.
Terry is on hand to help in the pool at all times.
Jodie said: “We genuinely feel like we have the best job in the world, we love how happy it makes the dogs and their owners when they visit us.
“We are quite simply a swimming pool for dogs, Terry is in the pool at all times to help and encourage first timers and nervous dogs - he’s also chief toy & ball thrower for the confident ones.
“We offer private swims and group sessions, including puppy sessions, senior sessions and pool parties.
“Owners can join their dogs in the pool for a swim, there isn’t many safe places that this is possible in Essex.
“We took our Dalmatian to canine dip and dive in September 2021 and completely fell in love with the idea of a dog swimming pool, then they posted on their Facebook page that they offered franchises we just had to go for it, we opened in April 2022 and it’s the best thing we have ever done."
People can bring their dogs along to the site for £16.50 for a half an hour session.
The business runs several different sessions intended for different dogs such as a solo swim, puppy swim, senior dogs/calm dogs swim and a pool party for excitable confident dogs.
The solo swim is a good starter session for dogs who may not be confident and may need some encouragement for dogs who are swimming for the first time.
To book a session, visit the group's Facebook page by searching ‘Canine Dip and Dive Maldon’ or visit caninedipanddiveclub.co.uk.
