TESCO in Maldon has raised £1,800 for charity after providing drinks and food for people who attended the Maldon Car Show.
The Tesco team raised funds for a number of different charities as they made their way to Promenade Park for the classic car show.
The event, which took place on September 15, marked the first Maldon Car Show since 2019.
Tesco Maldon colleagues played a role in the event’s success, not only did they assist in planning the car show, but they also served as marshals, ensuring that everything ran smoothly.
In addition, the Tesco team provided refreshments, including bacon sandwiches and hot drinks, which raised an impressive £1,800 for local charities.
The Tesco team raised the funds for Essex Air Ambulance, Cinnamon Trust, Farleigh Hospice, David Randall Foundation, The Daniel Wilkinson Foundation, Sea Cadets, The Liam Taylor Legacy, and BASICS Essex.
Car enthusiasts from across the region gathered at Promenade Park to celebrate classic and modern vehicles, making the event a resounding success.
Rhiain Oakley, Tesco Maldon community champion, said: “This was an absolutely amazing day, we all worked extremely hard on this project, but knowing we would be doing it to raise money for local charities made it worthwhile. We can’t wait for next year.”
Brian Farrington, Chairman of the Maldon Mud Race, the organisers of the event, said: “The support from Tesco and the community has been incredible. This event not only celebrates our love for cars but also reinforces our commitment to supporting local charities.”
