ESSEX popstar Olly Murs will be back in the county next year for what has been dubbed his "biggest-ever homecoming concert".
The Witham singer will headline a special event at Chelmsford City Racecourse as part of his "15 Years of Hits" UK tour, celebrating a career that has seen him rise from The X Factor finalist to one of Britain’s most beloved performers.
Murs will be joined by British boyband Blue and R&B star Lemar, with fellow Essex boy and close friend Mark Wright opening the event with a DJ set.
Speaking about the homecoming, Murs expressed his excitement.
He said: “So awesome to be back in Essex doing a summer show! I’ve been wanting to do another show in Chelmsford for so long and it’s finally happening!
I can’t wait to be performing back at home and I look forward to seeing you guys next summer at the racecourse. What a weekend it’s gonna be."
The announcement followed last week’s reveal that world-renowned award-winning musician Justin Timberlake is also coming to Chelmsford City Racecourse.
Racecourse Commercial Director Nathan Holmes said: “We are all extremely excited to be announcing Olly Murs as our second major act of the year, in partnership with Cuffe and Taylor and Live Nation. Olly is a tremendous performer who has a long list of hits that fans love.
“To be hosting Olly just 15 minutes from where he grew-up as part of his 15 Years of Hits tour as well as it being his biggest-ever home county show is a great story for Essex.
“It’s great to be welcoming back Blue and to have Lemar and Mark Wright as well, who form a fantastic lineup of entertainment."
Olly Murs will be performing in Chelmsford on Sunday, July 6, 2025.
Tickets will go on sale Friday, October 11 at 10am via Ticketmaster.
