Councillor Richard Siddall, leader of Maldon District Council, said: "We are incredibly proud to see the launch of the first projects under the Thriving Places Grant Programme.

"These initiatives represent our commitment to tackling the challenges our communities face, especially around mental health and wellbeing.

"I look forward to seeing the positive impact these projects will have over the coming months."

The grants are funded by the government's UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Jane Gardner, chair of One Maldon District, said: "I am really pleased that the One Maldon District partnership has shortlisted five such amazing projects and the Thriving Places Grant Programme.

"They will each make a huge difference to those in the community who need help and support."
