MULTIPLE firefighter crews rushed to a residential road in Burnham after a car was found ablaze.
Essex County Fire and Rescue Service dispatched crews from Maldon and Tillingham Fire Stations after being alerted to reports of a vehicle fire in Church Road, on Saturday at around 8:13pm.
Once at the scene, the crews used hose reel jets and breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire whilst using a water supply from a nearby hydrant.
Dramatic images captured from Essex County Fire and Rescue show how the section of Church Road was cordoned off.
A mid-size, four-door vehicle can be seen parked on the side of the road, next to houses as it was on flames.
The shocking moment also drew interest from nearby residents of the road as they can be seen peering out of their windows whilst the car was alight.
After the fire was extinguished, firefighters continued to dampen down and monitor hotspots at the wreckage.
The cause for the Church Road incident has not been confirmed yet.
The Maldon & Burnham Standard has contacted Essex County Fire and Rescue Service for more information on how the blaze started.
