A POLICE investigation has been launched after an A12 crash involving two cars.
The A12 was closed following a two-vehicle crash near Chelmsford on the morning of November 25.
The crash saw the major road blocked between Howe Green and Danbury on the northbound carriageway, and traffic queueing up to the Three Mile Hill junction.
In a statement, an Essex Police spokesman said: “We were called to reports of a collision on the A12 between junctions 17 and 18 shortly after 7.35am today (Monday November 25).
“It was reported a car and a van were involved.
“The northbound carriageway was closed for a time but has now re-opened.
“If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us.
“Please quote incident 223 of November 25.”
Public transport saw disruptions due to the incident, with services using the A12 experiencing delays.
The road was shut off by emergency services and reopened at around 9.30am with traffic returning to normal.
