MALDON Higashi Karate Club held their final training session of 2017.
They can look back on a very successful year for both their junior and senior competitors at local and national competitions.
Those Maldon students who are part of the Higashi national squad will be continuing with their training over the holiday period in preparation for the English Karate Kyu Grade Championships at the Leicester Arena in January.
The club run special junior beginners sessions and this year the best beginner award was presented to six-year-old Alexia-Jayne Worsford, who joined the club early this year and has also recently achieved her eighth kyu white belt.
It is always difficult to decide on an overall winner but she worked extremely hard throughout the year, has progressed well and always enjoys her karate with a smile.
Classes are held at the Blackwater Leisure Centre and will resume on January 4.
