COLCHESTER United and Grimsby Town supporters were left frustrated after their teams' League Two clash was called off, on Tuesday night.
But two enterprising Mariners fans ensured that their 316-mile round trip to Essex was not entirely wasted.
After their side's game against the U's was called off 90 minutes before kick-off due to a waterlogged pitch at the JobServe Community Stadium, loyal Grimsby fans Lewis Dawes and Connor Brogan decided to take a detour to Park Drive to take in the BBC Essex Senior Cup quarter-final tie between Maldon and Tiptree and Little Oakley.

Excellent advert for Non-league cup football tonight despite the result, great to see two @officialgtfc fans supporting the Non-league after their @SkyBetLeagueTwo fixture against @ColU_Official was called off.
