BRETT Munyard celebrated his appointment as the new Maldon and Tiptree boss with a 2-0 win at Newmarket Town in his first match, writes JON LONGMAN.
Victory in his first match saw the Jammers climb out of the Pitching In Isthmian North Division relegation places.
Munyard said: “Work rate and desire from all involved was incredible! Thank you for all the support. A fantastic start but there is lots to do.”
The Jammers cleared the first hurdle thanks to two goals in the first 13 minutes that wrapped up an entertaining victory.
Munyard gave debuts to centre back Darren Phillips, Ricky Stubbs, Jason Maher and Chris Millar, who was signed from Bowers and Pitsea last Friday.
Kien Connolly was booked three minutes into time added on at the end of the first half.
Renei Batlokwa replaced Michael Freitner six minutes into the second half.
Another new face, Jacob Mingay was sent on for Jordan Foster, before Kai Redgrave was booked two minutes after being sent on to replace Matt Price, in the 80th minute.
Jammers chairman Danny Barber made haste in recruiting former Brightlingsea Regent manager Munyard, who had turned down other offers.
A brief statement from the Jammers said: “We are delighted to announce Brett as our first team manager.
“Both the club and Brett have clear objectives for what we aim to achieve over the next 18 months.
“Brett’s experience will be instrumental in helping us reach our goal. Welcome aboard Brett.”
Munyard responded: “It has been a very hectic week but I am very pleased to become Maldon and Tiptree’s manager.
“My only guarantee is that I will give everything to the club and work tirelessly for success.”
