THE Forrester Park ladies played the qualifier for the Daily Mail Foursomes competition.
This was won by Dawn Marriot and Margaret Tristan with a score of nett 76.5 and they will represent the club in the competition.
Jean Perrott and Jan Partner were second with net 77.5 and they will be the reserve pair.
The veterans’ team played in the annual match at Harwich and Dovercourt for the Bill Hymas Trophy. Harwich won the competition and hold the trophy until next year.
The players not involved in the match played a better ball competition which was won by Terry Drew and Richard Grange, with 46 points.
David Ayres and Gerry Dixon were second, with 45 points, beating Keith Whipp and Stuart Wilson on countback.
The men’s Sunday competition was the October medal where Ian Hughes won the gold division with nett 69, beating Chris Hurrell on countback.
Steve Corkhill had the best round of the day, nett 68, to win the silver division from Terry Canham, who scored nett 69.
The bronze division players struggled in the almost perfect playing conditions where nett 77 was good enough for Dale Rayner to win, with Mike Manning in second place with nett 79.
