SEVENTY-THREE veterans braved the elements and a wet course to play a Forrester Park divisional stableford.
The winner in the gold division was Steve Badjonat with 38 points.
Dennis Morley was second with 37 points and Dave Ayres third with 36.
In the silver division, Dale Rayner, playing his first competition with the veterans, had the best round of the day with 41 points.
Ian Smith was second with 35 points, beating Dave Powell on countback.
Alan Troman won the bronze division with 36 points, with Dick Yelland beating Harry Whiteman for second place both with 35 points.
The men’s January medal was played under very difficult circumstances with rain, wind and very wet underfoot.
In spite of this scores were very respectable with Clive Walby winning the gold division with nett 73, from Ian Hughes who took second place with nett 74.
John Price won the silver division with nett 72, from Carl Scarborough who returned nett 74.
Dave Ratchford won the bronze division with nett 79 from Graham Podd who scored nett 80.
The ladies played the fourth round of their 12-hole winter league.
This was won by Elspeth Williams with 18 points, with Margaret Tristan in second place after a countback.
