Five Lakes Seniors played their fourth round of this season’s Winter League.
The format was a three-ball Texas Scramble Stableford, played off 1/7 combined handicaps, with individual points carried over to subsequent rounds.
The competition was played on the Links course in calm, wintry, conditions.
Due to the water-logged course, preferred lies were taken through the green and all bunkers were deemed GUR.
With the ball having limited carry and virtually no roll, scoring was not easy but three teams did manage to return 40 points.
Winning the round was the team of Bryan Thompson, Mike Martin and seniors vice-captain, Mick Phillis who returned a better back nine score than the following two teams. The main results were: 1 Bryan Thompson, Mike Martin and Mick Phillis 40 pts ocb, 2 Peter Ivey, Ken Laight and Clive Jenner 40 pts ocb, 3 Jim Fern, Ron Colbert and Alan Blois 40 pts, 4 Tony Tyler, Barry Turner and David 38 pts.
In the nearest the pin competition, Peter Ivey took the award on the 13th hole.
