The Warren’s men’s section have been busy during the last week.
Simon Torry and Keith Morrell won the Rabbie Burns stableford competition with an outstanding 44 points. Dave Ransley and Martin Lack took second place with 43 points, on countback from Roger Bigwood and Paul Wrench.
The January Monthly Stableford was played last week and was a close run affair with Stuart Hall winning the event with 40 points, on countback from Rob Anderson.
Luke Mepham took third place with 39.
The Winter Vets Challenge Cup was also played last week and won by Malcolm Nelson with 39 points. Keith Amato took second place with 38 points.
The ladies have also been busy and their fun stableford competition last week was won by Liz Davidson with 43 points (18-hole competition) and Heather Bunker on 21 points (eight-hole competition).
The Warren men progressed to the next round of the Mail on Sunday knockout competition with an excellent 4-1 away victory at Chelmsford Golf Club.
In very wet dismal conditions, Bob Alston, captain Mike Bedwell, Craig Parish and Steve Wren all notched up great victories to put The Warren through to the next round.
