The format was a Texas Scramble Stableford, played off 1/7 combined handicaps for three-balls.
Players carry over their individual points from each round and select their best five score out seven rounds for the title.
The final round was played on the Lakes course in very cold, blustery but sunny conditions on a water-saturated course requiring preferred lies to be taken through the green.
With the wind-affected ball having virtually no run, good scoring was challenge and only two of the six teams returned more than 40 points.
With six-round leader Jim Fern unable to play, only Mike Martin in the top six was able to add to his best-five score.
With Tony Tyler and John Knight, Mike’s team returned a creditable score of 41 points to take the honours on countback from the team of David Owen, Martin Measor and David Swain.
However, Jim Fern had sufficient points from his earlier best five rounds to land this season’s Seniors Winter League title.
